How Being Focused and Proactive Will Ensure The Right To Do’s
I’m going to start by being completely honest with you all. I’m not always as focused, proactive and productive as I want to be, but I try to push through the days I feel without motivation or simply the laziness this Rona situation brings.
Before I started applying these 3 Tips I’m going to share with you today, I procrastinated a lot and I had in my To Do List the wrong priorities. This developed an overwhelming and constant sensation of not having enough time or just having too much to do.
Once we understand that sometimes we put too much on our every day lives, we will start doing what really is important and not everything that requires our attention.
So, the first tip on How Being Focused and Proactive Will Ensure The Right To Do’s is:
It’s important to determine what’s urgent and essential in our plan. If we don’t determine priorities and set boundaries, every single situation will become an essential. So, ask yourself, Is this real important? If I do this in another time, will it affect my ultimate goal?
If your answers are negative is because they’re not urgent and you can allocate them for another time. Give yourself grace. You don’t need to do everything right away.
2. Stick to a Schedule.
Having a schedule is one of the greatest ways to stay focus and productive every day. When you determine what you need to do each day you’re one step closer to ensure that you have the right To-Do’s on your list.
This second step works with the first one (prioritize) by making sure you’re taking action and working towards your essential steps.
3. Set Yourself Some Boundaries.
With so many notifications from our phones ringing almost every 5 mins, sometimes I personally find it difficult to set boundaries. But I know that if I’m in the middle of an important project, setting boundaries will help me stick to my ultimate goals. You can set boundaries by assigning the times you check your phone, answer calls (unless they’re from work), or chat with your families.
I know some days are easier than others, but when distractions come, remember this quote from Nehemiah 6:3
“I’m doing a great work; I can’t come down.”
I read this everyday or when I’m working towards my goals. And the difference it makes to my attitude and the work I’m doing is enormous.
I hope you find this helpful, and remember that your goals are bigger than the distractions around you! (wink).
